“Janine Sowden is an accomplished young Australian virtuoso with a real flair for her inimitable countryman’s off-beat genius, and her finely engineered programme embraces an ideal cross section of indestructible favourites.”
– Andrew Achenbach, Gramophone

“Sowden’s playing is by turns emotionally direct, sensitively voiced and fabulously powerful.”
BBC Music Magazine, London

“The dominating feature of her playing was an almost fragile sensitivity to quality of sound.”
The Times, London

“The first thing that leaps off the [Percy Grainger] CD is the truly glorious pianistic sound quality, quite exceptionally rich, deep, full and glowing.”
BBC Music Magazine, London
