Biographies:
Josephine Vains is an Australian cellist, chamber musician and educator, with a performance career that encompasses modern and historical cello. Regular performances with Firebird Trio, Accademia Arcadia, Melbourne Baroque Orchestra, Genesis Baroque, Gryphon Baryton Trio, Ensemble Old and New and CellOZ fill her calendar. Her recordings have been released on HUSH, ABC Classics, Resonus Classics, Tall Poppies and reviewed in Gramophone Magazine. Josephine also relishes teaching at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
Today she is performing on a Thomas Kennedy Cello (London), 1850.
Ken Murray has forged a distinctive career as a guitarist, blending elements of performance, composition, teaching, and research. His focus encompasses a dedication to showcasing and recording Spanish music from the early 20th century, collaborating extensively with contemporary composers, and actively engaging in the performance of Brazilian and South American musical genres. In his role as a composer, Murray has crafted a diverse array of compositions for solo guitar and ensemble settings.
